I went to Haiti in October of 2012 with Joel Troyer of Impact of Hope and Brent Gambrell of BGM and was able to document them working with the Haitians for the Haitians, empowering them to rebuild their homes and their lives.
Costa Rica
I recently took a trip to Costa Rica where we shot 12 stories around the area of Jaco. You’ll see below stories about Costa Ricans REALLY making a difference in the world around them and no matter how big or small your contribution, if you’re passionate about it, you’ll positively impact at least one persons life. I believe you’ll touch people you had no idea were even watching or listening.
This story is about a man named Marco who has spent over 25 years of his life preserving sea turtles. That’s a lot of turtles and a lot of gratitude the world should have for a simple, humble man like him.
This story won an emmy in 2011
The Jatropha Plant is a tree that grows native in Costa Rica. We were introduced to a man, Eduardo Acosta, who has taken this plant and is creating bio-diesel and encouraging as many Costa Ricans as who will listen to learn this simple process and start doing this for themselves. Eduardo (or as he called himself, Ed) is an impressive man, hard to forget and encouraging in his quest to teach his and other children about being responsible and caring for this earth. This story won an emmy in 2011.

I shot this on location in Costa Rica when early on a Sunday morning, I hopped on a boat with Jose who showed me not only will he tease, taunt and feed the crocs, he’ll kiss them on the nose. Don’t know about you but I don’t see dudes like this everyday
